BEYOND FOUNDATION: HOW TO FIND YOUR PERFECT SHADE
Find Your Perfect Match with our Simple 3 Step Shading System. It's important while choosing your shade, you look at your face, neck and décolletage. This will help you have shade consistency.
Step 1: Identify your colour category: Light (L), Medium (M) or Dark (D). These can often be identified as to how your skin reacts when in the sun: light skins tend to burn very easily in the sun, medium skins will tan in the sun, and dark skins tan easily and rarely burn.
Step 2: Identify your undertone: Golden (G), Rose (R) OR Neutral (N). Undertones are the tones you have in your skin. For Illamasqua, golden is cool, olive, essentially skin that has a little more yellow tone than pink. Rose is rosey, warm blush tones, essentially skin that has more pink or red within it. Neutral is the perfect mix of both Rose and Golden tones, creating a beige, peachy skin tone.
Step 3: Choose your depth from 1-4. The depth of the foundation is based on how dark or light you want or need your foundation to be, from 1 being lightest and 4 being darkest. Each foundation shade name will have a colour, undertone and depth, ie. MG1, LR2, DN3, etc.

Ensure you are primed to perfection by using Hydra Veil Primer, this will ensure your skin looks stays in place all day and will smooth away any pores or fine lines for a youthful, perfected glow. I like to apply a 10 pence size of product around the T-Zone after moisturiser.

Make sure you get a couple of samples before purchasing
When I ordered the samples the colouration was fantastic and soon found the perfect tone for my skin so I ordered a full size in the shade I selected but I have to say I am extremely disappointed in the product itself. The foundation just slides about the face making it patchy. It comes off super easy and makes the skin look greasy even when using powder and matte primer. So would only suggest this foundation for people with VERY dry skin otherwise it just slides off your face and it takes forever to get a smooth, equal light coverage.

Suitable for the fairest of skin tones
I've used the skin base foundation for a while, but I do prefer my base quite sheer and glowy. Beyond Foundation delivers on everything it promises. It goes on smooth, it's dewy, feels lightweight on the skin and looks amazing. I have mature and dry skin with some texture. This does not settle in texture and requires very little finessing to give an even look. I'm extremely pale and struggle to find a good foundation match elsewhere, but this matches up with the regular skin base shades. I can not recommend this enough. A little goes a long way and you certainly get every bit the quality you pay for.

Beyond Foundation
Very nice foundation, nice light coverage, probably for me a bit too light, I usually need to reapply later in the day. Perfect colour for me, very pleased as I picked it online.

Beautiful
I purchased some samples b4 committing to the full size, I already love the skin base, love the packaging, love a pump Using the samples helped me to choose a shade also try it out a few times, feels super light on the skin, leaves me feeling glowy ( not shiny) I would say buildable med coverage, I have combo skin mature skin but this foundation sits beautifully, I obviously fell in love as I went on to purchase the full size

Just like in description. Wasn’t dissapointed at all. Nice skin like up to dewy look. I noticed that with the sponge it’s more like skin tint so I highly recomand application with brush it blends like a dream and I noticed no streaks. Buildable coverage. Only problem I had was I didn’t know how to choose my shade as it is new foundation there are almost no reviews but on Instagram Illamasqua has better quality of photos of swatches(LG2) sorry but photos of shades on website are not helpful.

Beautiful Foundation
This was my first illamasqua product and I genuinely regret waiting so long to try the brand. I love dewy foundations but often find them either too dewy (to the point I just look clammy) or that they only last a few hours. This foundation has the perfect level of dewiness for a glowing look and lasts really well! Since buying this I've ordered a few other illamasqua products and I've been impressed with them all.

Very different to skin base but lovely it’s very dewy and feels so moisturising it’s very sheer but can definitely build it to a medium...once I’ve set it it stays on about 6-8 hours. I think it will be great for the cold winter days when your skin needs that extra moisture. Not sure how it will be in the hot summer days. But it definitely does what it says on the tin...sheer and glass skin. Great for my dry prone skin.
