Mel's Story

Born in Manchester, but London based, Melanie has over 10 year’s experience working in the makeup industry. After joining MAC Cosmetics as an Artist, her love of makeup lay in beauty and bridal, as she enjoyed making people look and feel like the very best versions of themselves. As she grew in her role, her passion for teaching and customer service became apparent and soon became a Trainer and later a Regional Trainer looking after MAC’s most prestigious free standing doors and department stores in London.

In 2018, Melanie joined the Illamasqua team to head up Education and Training and has since worked backstage at Fashion Week under Pablo, as well as building the strategic and educational content to ensure the Illamasqua heritage of artistry and service excellence is upheld to the highest standards.

EASY SMOKEY EYE

Traditionally, Precision Gel Liner is an eyeliner but when blended it creates the quickest, long lasting smouldering eye look for the party season. Apply the Gel Liner with a small brush then take a fluffy blending brush to blend out for a seamless smokey look. Pat a small amount of Empowering Iconic Chrome in the middle of the eye lid, for a pop of shimmer. Finish the look off by applying our Masquara Raven. This look can be worn with a natural or dramatic lip look.’

GLOW GET THEM

‘For an extra intense highlighted look, double layer your highlighting products. Apply our cream highlighter on to the high points of the face and then pat Beyond Powder on top using fingers or a sponge. The shimmer will be super intense!! I also like to crumble Beyond Powder into my moisturiser and then apply foundation or concealer over the top – you will get a more subtle, healthy, glow from within skin’
